Discover Your Voice, Discover YOU: Through the Power of Sacred Sound

  • Blue Mountains YHA 207 Katoomba St Katoomba NSW 2780 Australia (map)

You can heal yourself with your voice. That power is innate within you.

Discover and explore your chanting voice and it’s potential for healing, with the guidance and support of expert teachers during this 3 hour workshop. A four-stringed Indian drone instrument, called the Tanpura, will provide the backdrop to your experience of the sound vibrations that come from and through you.

Experiencing sound in this way is liberating. You will feel a new connection with what’s really important, and really true, in life.. Sing into freedom!

The deep healing vibrations of Nāda Yoga — the Yoga of Sound — create the perfect auditory environment to meditate and contemplate on single vowel sounds, creating magic in our voice and our heart.

The cosmic sounds of Indian Music, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha and Ni, will also feature in our study and experience together. We will activate these sounds within us and begin to align our sonic practices with our spiritual journey.

You will discover the vocal practices of Indian Music, used for warming up and training the muscles to cultivate fluidity in the voice.

And learn an Indian Mantra/Kīrtan so that you can chant your heart out  — for a rich vibrational and healing experience.

Finally, lose yourself in a rich and therapeutic experience of the sounds of Indian Classical Music with an intimate live performance given by the master musician Sudhanshu Sharma, accompanied by gifted tabla player Saptak Sharma in the studio — a truly unique opportunity.

Come, let the Divine sing through you!

 ABOUT SUDHANSHU SHARMA

Hindustani Classical Vocalist – Music Teacher and Performer

 A little about Sudhanshu…

Real music happens when the soul sings and the soul listens – this remains the guided force behind the Musical endeavors of Sudhanshu Sharma – an internationally respected Musician and Teacher.

Sudhanshu Sharma was initiated into music at the age of eleven as it was discovered that he had a natural ability to portray complex musical phrases easily through his voice.

He was awarded a Gold Medal in Post-Graduate Music from the University of Delhi, and later trained under Pandit Baldev Raj Verma, the prime disciple oF Pandit Amaranth and one of the torchbearers of the Indore style signing popularised by legendary Ustad Amir Khan Saheb.

With extensive training and a fresh aesthetic appeal, Sudhanshu’s singing is marked by a serene and reposeful elaboration of the Raga — far from the ostentation and showiness that usually grips a musical performance.

He seeks to remain in touch with his innermost musical impulses. He has toured the Middle East, Europe and Indonesia and has upcoming invitations to perform in the USA, Japan and Australia.
