FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS…

  • No! My Nepal retreat is designed for women 50+ who are healthy and eager for an authentic experience of yoga, meditation, and a true peek behind the curtain of Nepal. If you’re in your 40’s and this calls to you, you’re warmly welcome too.

  • You’ll need a moderate to good level of fitness to enjoy this retreat.

On most days we’ll walk for around 3 hours — sometimes through the cobbled streets of Kathmandu, other times along trails and between villages at the base of the Annapurna ranges.

As nothing in Nepal is flat, being reasonably fit will make the journey much more enjoyable.

This retreat isn’t suitable for anyone with chronic health conditions or who feels unstable on their feet, as the terrain can be uneven at times.

“If you’re comfortable with daily walking and uneven ground, you’ll be fine.”

  • Absolutely! Most women who join me come on their own and prefer to enjoy their own space, so single rooms are the norm.

If you’re coming with a friend or partner and would like a twin or double, that’s also an option.

At one location we stay in beautiful, traditional mud-brick houses. These are limited in number, so you may be asked to share a house with another guest.

Each has a dividing trap door for privacy, and while the bathroom is shared, the setting is cosy, unique, and full of character — an authentic part of the Nepalese experience. This is only for three nights of the retreat.

  • I recommend arriving in Kathmandu at least two days before the retreat begins. This gives you time to settle in, adjust to the time zone, and soak up the atmosphere.

The night before the retreat officially starts, we gather for a beautiful group rooftop dinner. The following morning at 7am we begin our first class together.

For your return, the retreat ends after breakfast. You can book a flight that afternoon, or choose to stay on and explore more of Nepal if you’d like to extend your adventure.

  • Yes, you’ll be picked up on arrival at Kathmandu airport.

If you’re arriving more than two days early, you may like to stay in the lively, central area of Thamel, a perfect place to wander, enjoy cafés, and soak up the vibrant atmosphere of Kathmandu.

If you’re arriving within two days of the retreat, you can be dropped directly at our first retreat location, where it’s possible to book extra nights. All the details will be provided once your booking is confirmed.

  • Not at all. This retreat is about gently reconnecting with yourself, whether you’re completely new to yoga and meditation or have been practising for years. I design each session so practices are layered and accessible for everyone who joins.

We may find ourselves practising on rooftops, in pagoda rooms, or on grassy hilltops. You’ll need to be comfortable sitting on a cushion or inflatable pillow for meditation — and if that’s not for you, lying down is always an option.

  • Yes, you can either pay in full or choose a payment plan. Please note that a $100 administration fee is included if you select the payment plan option.

  • Smoking isn’t permitted on retreat.

When it comes to alcohol, the focus is on nourishing the body and mind. That said, this is also an adventure in Nepal, and many evenings we’ll share atmospheric dinners together, where a glass of wine or beer may be enjoyed. It’s always optional, never the focus, and held in the same mindful spirit as the rest of our time together.

  • Oh yes! Once you’ve booked, you’ll be invited into a private WhatsApp group where everyone gets to know each other before we meet in Nepal.

It’s in this space that ladies often start arranging meet-ups on arrival, planning dinners out, and sometimes even choosing to travel together.

I’m also there with you in the group, answering questions and making sure you have everything you need. You’ll be guided every step of the way 🤗

  • Of course! I’d love to connect and answer any questions you may have. We can start with a quick call to chat things through, and if you’re feeling keen, we’ll then arrange a short Zoom call for final confirmation of your booking.
